Zika virus
The Ebola epidemic in Africa has not completely ended, but an outbreak of an arbovirus called Zika Virus has emerged in the Americas. In February 2014, Chile discovered its first local case of Zika virus infection on Easter Island. In May 2015, Brazil began to experience an outbreak of Zika virus infection. As of January 26, 2016, there have been reports of the epidemic in 24 countries and regions, including 22 in the Americas. Currently, there are also reports in many European countries, with the potential to spread globally.
