The high-temperature working environment in the workplace is mainly caused by the heat generated from the following aspects.
① The heat emitted by combustion: such as the heat emitted by fuel during the combustion process in boilers, smelting furnaces, kilns, etc.
② The heat emitted by the operation of machines, such as the heat generated by electric motors, engines, and various mechanical movements.
③ The heat emitted during a chemical reaction process, such as the heat emitted from some reactors in a chemical factory.
Common high temperature environments:
Metallurgical industry, including steelmaking, ironmaking, steel rolling, coking, etc; Casting, forging, heat treatment, etc. in the mechanical manufacturing industry; Kilns and furnace workers in the glass and refractory industries. In addition, there are high-temperature operations such as papermaking, sugar manufacturing, brick and tile industry, power plants, boiler rooms for trains and ships, and submersible cabins.
The impact of high temperature on the human body mainly has two aspects:
① High temperature burns: When the skin temperature reaches 41-44 ℃ due to high temperature, a burning sensation will be felt. If the high temperature continues to rise, the basic tissue of the skin will be damaged.
② Systemic heat response: The main symptoms of systemic heat are dizziness, headache, chest tightness, palpitations, visual impairment (blurred vision), nausea, vomiting, epileptic seizures, etc. Excessive temperature can also cause collapse, limb rigidity, urinary and fecal incontinence, fainting, burns, coma, and even death.
